volunteer

Nearly one in five American adults lived with a mental health condition before the pandemic, according to the National Association of Mental illness, and many experts believe the need for help is even more acute now. The good news is that there are many ways you can volunteer to help address mental illness.
Do you have some time available? Would you like to make a positive difference in your community? Project Healthy Minds has a variety of volunteer opportunities available, providing students in the bay area with free mental health services.

Post Covid heal and support for Children’s well being

Back to school this year has been anything but ordinary. In addition to their school supplies, kids are also carrying the stress and uncertainty of the COVID pandemic.
The pandemic has been challenging for many children with some having experienced loss of a loved one or the loss of economic stability, food or housing.
As we recognize the many disruptions and stressors that children have faced over the last 2 yrs we must acknowledge that some children are more affected than others. Children from minority and underserved communities hardest hit by the pandemic are likely feeling the greatest impact. The cumulative effect of these stressful experiences, especially combined with adverse childhood experiences can pose serious risks to children’s mental health.
Project healthy minds would like to support children’s well-being. We will hold events this summer and provide personalized support and care to children dealing with issues related to mental health.

Creating Healthy Scholars

As the COVID-19 pandemic forces schools across the nation to shut down and resort to virtual classrooms, students now more than ever are having difficulty keeping up with their studies. Consequently, academic studies are imposing heavy burdens on students who may also be balancing other circumstances in their personal lives.
Project Healthy Minds recognizes this widespread issue and aims to provide guidance and a support network for all students. We have a skilled team of highly accomplished undergraduates, graduates, teachers-in-training, and other successful mentors to provide academic tutoring to K-12 students. Students not only benefit from connecting with experienced mentors but also have the flexibility to meet with their tutor at the convenience of their schedule. And the best part? These services are FREE!
